Re-re Dawley, Owner and Nurse Practitioner of Sweeney Dawley Recovery Center
I am a born and raised Braintree Resident. I attended Braintree Public Schools through eighth grade and then attended Archbishop Williams High School. Upon graduating high school, I was accepted into the St. Anselm’s Nursing Program in Manchester, New Hampshire where I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
After passing my nursing boards and earning my Commonwealth of Massachusetts Nursing License, I began working in the Suffolk County House of Correction as a Registered Nurse. In that position, I learned firsthand about mental illness and substance use disorder. I continued my nursing career as a Registered Nurse at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Thoracic Surgery Unit in Boston. Through these positions, I learned how critical it is to address underlying conditions suffered by individuals with medical and mental health issues.
In order to specialize in this area, I went back to school and earned my master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts at Boston in the Family NP Program. I completed my certification through The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
I worked as a Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner at Children's Hospital, Boston for 7 years before deciding to work closer to home to raise my two children. Despite being a busy working mom, I went back to school again and earned a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. I completed my certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specific specialty.
My two Nurse Practioner’s Degrees make me uniquely qualified to work with patients and create individual’s plans that will make a real difference in their life.
I am genuine, friendly, brutally honest and not afraid to laugh at myself. I find my vulnerability puts people at ease in what is often an extremely stressful time in their life. I care about my patients and want to help them. I can help you too.
I continue to live in Braintree with my husband, daughter, son and my dog Nova.

Kristen Foley McCarthy was easy to hire. She is my best friend who knows all my flaws and loves me anyway. She is a Braintree Resident, married with four children and a dog. While she is more private than me she loves the gift of gab. She is extremely pleasant, nurturing, organized and will go out of her way to make sure you receive excellent care. She identifies my weaknesses and pick up the slack when she recognizes I am overlooking something. She is an amazing advocate to patients and knows when to interrupt me to address a priority. Together we make an excellent team with the main goal of providing excellent patient care.
